Diederick van Hovell

Touching you where you least expect it, where is it so delicate, in this place so sensitive that you cannot see nor believe it. In this place all in reverse, touch this secluded space where nothing answers to rules, everything is upside down, devoid of direction, slightly out of balance. The other one, their distinctive signs, sensitivity and moods, their expectations, experience and flaws, this is my raw material.
I am exploring, wandering, through many colours to express mood, trying out singular techniques in order to convey a feeling, to transpose emotions with unexpected materials. Creating a portrait as a testimony, a mark of interest for individuality, as an evocation of distinctive features, as a journey towards the other.
