SjøpølseThis gorgeous transformation of beach trash into jewelry goods is called Sjøpølse (Sea sausage / Seewurst) and made
by Philipp Spillmann for the Ho!Ho!Ho! Exhibition (November 12 – December 24, 2022) at Friends of Carlotta. To try, fall in love, give as a gift or make yourself happy.
Philipp Spillmann: „Sjøpølse is the Norwegian name of the marine animal called sea cucumber, but literally translated from Norwegian into English it means sea sausage.
Sjøpølse is made from a fishnet ring found on a beach in Lofoten. The fishnet ring is a lost fishing tool. It is comprised of foam rubber plastic, brownish in color, with cracks in its surface after an orphaned life in the ocean. The sea sausage is an object with a piece that can be worn as a brooch.“
